Poroshenko signs decree on inauguration of Zelenskyi

The inauguration of the newly elected President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, will take place on  May 20.

The current leader of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, signed a decree on the preparation of the inauguration of the elected president of the country, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Decree No. 228/2019 has been published on the president’s website.

According to the document, the organizing committee has been formed and approved so that “to properly organize the events related to the inauguration of the newly elected President of Ukraine”.

The committee includes 16 officials and representatives of President-elect Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

In particular, the committee has been charged with approving a plan within two days for the organization and conduct of activities related to inauguration.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has been instructed to invite foreign delegations to the ceremony.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Management of Affairs have been instructed to carry out financial, material and technical support of events related to the inauguration, while the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting should provide wide coverage of the upcoming event in the media

Ukrainian lawmakers have set the inauguration of President-elect Volodymyr Zelenskyi for May 20. The event will start at 10:00 Kyiv time.

As we reported earlier, on April 30, the Central Election Commission announced the results of the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2019. Volodymyr Zelenskyi wins the presidential run with 73,22% of the votes. Petro Poroshenko got 24,45% of the votes.
